The concept of time

I'm not sure if this makes me a bad parent- however.  Every night at bathtime, our wall clock magically moves an hour.

Once the kids go to bed, (early, no complaints as they’ve got to “stay up late”) it magically moves back.

A really cool thing happens in this time.  Bed time happens much easier.  There is no fighting.  All the same toy clean up chores get done.  There are no complaints, no fighting, and we still play games and read books.

It is almost as though we've let them in on this little secret; that mum and dad have been naughty and let them stay extra long and late in the bath. So afterwards, they feel like they are part of the team to make sure we are all in bed by "8.30" (really 7.30).

Now I don’t want to brag, but if that’s not some “Australian of the Year” material right there…. At least at Chris Lilly “We could be hero’s” level, then I don’t know what is.

I wonder if we "wound the clocks back or forward" at work with our teams, how much better would we perform together? Would there be less friction and stress?

Bound by setting a common team goal, (even without bed-time duress), we can all work together to have each other's backs through stress and with more harmony.
